Description Milan Crha 2008-12-01 09:49:45 UTC
I was pointed to the issue in bug #352287 where I use a store from libgweather, which is shown in a GtkTreeView. I can reproduce it even in the weather applet properties dialog when choosing the location, thus reporting here (even I'm not sure whether it is an issue with gtk+ or not).

Steps:
a) add weather applet to the panel
b) rightclick and choose Preferences, tab Location
c) click the Europe node, do not expand it
   - note the expander arrow in front of the "Africa" node is white
d) press shift and unhold it immediately
   - note the expander arrow in front of the "Africa" node is black now
e) click the Europe node once again

"Africa" node got expanded suddenly, but it shouldn't.

Although bug 601080 appears to be similar to this one, on my system I do not suffer from this bug 562839 (I followed all the instructions carefully and more than once, all is behaving normally), but I do suffer from bug 601080, so I am not sure either bug is really a duplicate of the other.

This bug seems a little behind in troubleshooting than the other, it also refers to a version that is older (2.14 vs 2.18, to me problems started appearing only with latest upgrade to karmic).

I observe the same problem behavior as Milan Crha, but with the folder tree in Evolution. I also second Harold Campbell's observation in comment #4 of bug #601080 that the problem only appears when the 'synergys' keyboard+mouse sharing server is running. This worked fine in F11, showed up as a problem when I upgraded to F12.

Marking as a duplicate of bug #581050, because the newer contains proposed patch for the issue.
