Description Satoshi Tanabe 2008-05-01 02:06:14 UTC
Hi,

I found it a little odd that gnome-subtitles doesn't have the "Insert Subtitles⇒After" function in the toolbar. Although it can be done with (Ctrl - Enter), isn't it more accessible to have something like the "New Entry" button? It certainly is more frequently used than the font style buttons, I think.

Also, the "Edit⇒Delete subtitles" function cleared the text box, and it didn't actually "delete" the entry that I edited at that time, which I expected. Is this the expected behavior? If so, isn't the name "Clear entry" more intuitive for this action? Also, similar to the above, it's probably useful to have the "Delete Entry" button, which deletes the whole entry and the focus moves to the previous one.

What do you think?

I confirm that having toolbar buttons for Insert and Delete subtitles, by default, is a good idea.

I'm not able to replicate the subtitle deletion issue. Can you provide steps to reproduce the problem?

Hi,

Thanks for the confirmation about the Insert and Delete buttons.

About the subtitle deletion issue. Strangely, when I tried to reproduce this, the function worked as expected... I think I saw this clearing-text-instead-of-deleting-entry behavior, but right now I can't seem to reproduce. I'll let you know when I encounter this again.

Applied a patch from Arx Cruz.

The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you again for your bug report.
