To reproduce: Choose basic latin and a letter near the bottom. Then close and re-open.

Note that this bug would be hidden if bug 517188 is fixed.

Looks like a bug in the theme engine to me; which theme is this?
Comment 3 Jared Moore 2008-03-23 18:06:40 UTC
Ubuntu 7.10 default Human theme.

You're probably right. I can reproduce this with the 2-22 branch.

Any older branch won't have the gconf settings code, so the only way to test this would be to backport the patch... yuch. Unless another way to reproduce can be found.
Comment 4 Christian Persch 2008-03-31 11:53:12 UTC
Can you reproduce this with clearlooks, when you revert the patch from bug 517188 ? If so, we'll reassign this bug to gtk-engines; otherwise it's human-only and thus NOTGNOME.
Comment 5 Jared Moore 2008-03-31 12:04:17 UTC
*facepalm*, why didn't I think of testing that? :P

Can only reproduce with human engine. NOTGNOME.

Thanks! Closing; bug please report this to ubuntu.
