Description Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek 2008-01-20 20:44:55 UTC
please draw smaller sizes of error/warning/question icons, because of mixing styles in firefox ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413239 ).

The gnome-icon-theme ships all the required sizes, if anything, it's GTK which needs smaller sizes.

These icons are meant to be used in message dialogs. For that, only 48x48 is needed. If applications feel the need to misuse them at other sizes, thats their problem.

A valid reuse of those icons is in statusbars, or as status indicator for entry widgets (in rare cases like order forms).

Just to complete the bug: Firefox displays a 16x16 error icon in the same area where normally favicons are displayed, in case some error occurred while loading the page. FF does not use error popups but instead displays the error messages inside the browser window. There seems to be some sort of movement away from intrusive error popups (see latest Evolution for example), which means the smaller sizes actually have a use.
