GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 509395
Website improvements - ideas
Last modified: 2011-01-13 12:40:53 UTC
With 0.28 release on the horizon, I think it would be nice to refresh the website. Apart from the logo/header change following the icon change, we could: 1. Put more screen shots to better illustrate key features 2. Separate the content for developers from the content for regular users, expose contact information (blog, wiki, IRC, mailing list), provide "user-friendly" description of "how to get involved" 3. Encourage upgrading to 0.28 and maybe suggest that the previous versions are most likely no longer supported due to lack of resources 4. Provide FAQ, describe possible upgrade/migration issues + solutions 5. Describe channels of providing feedback information, bug reports etc. It would also be nice to have something like a "playground" (maybe on wiki?) where people could simply (without registering etc) drop the URL of a feed that causes problems or is not fully supported in Straw As always, any ideas are welcome.
Straw development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development.
