The Nokia E70 is a symbian phone. It doesn't have "gnapplet" installed.
Cool to known that #312127 (gnapplet detection) is fixed. As that bug was for the listener component, setting for this bugreport also to listener.
gnapplet won't work on your phone though, as gnapplet only supports older versions of Symbian.
N70 should work in gnapplet. See http://wiki.gnokii.org/index.php/Gnapplet_driver
I'm talking rubbish, it should work with gnapplet: http://wiki.gnokii.org/index.php/Gnapplet_driver 2007-11-19 Bastien Nocera <hadess@hadess.net> * libgsm/phones.xml: Add the Nokia E70 to the list of supported phones, with the gnapplet driver (Closes: #498239) * telepathy/im-channel.c: (phoney_im_channel_send): Fix build

The wiki page clearly says those phones do not work and my experience with gnapplet on Nokia N73 only confirms that - it does not even install :( If it is so and gnapplet still hasn't been fixed for Symbian v3, shouldn't this be reopened?
Nokia N70 is a different device than N73. And N70 is 2nd Edition, not 3rd Edition.

Could you please bring those questions up on the gnokii mailing list rather than here? Thanks.

I've been reading N70 all the time. E70 is indeed not supported. hopefully 3rd Edition will be supported anytime soon.
