GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 495551
Selecting translation to show on top of movie
Last modified: 2008-02-10 01:38:35 UTC
I have small feature request.I am working a lot on subtitles translations with gnome-subtitles, and i can't actually find any way to switch language showed on top of video, so i always have to use translated subtitles as source, and original subtitles as translation to check my work out.
I confirm that this would be useful. What do you think would be a better approach, to select between original and translated subtitles, or to display both on the video?
(In reply to comment #1) > What do you think would be a better > approach, to select between original and translated subtitles, or to display > both on the video? For me personally, switching to one of selected translations would be better. Maybe by clicking on "Table Header". I have another usability problem. Pushing <ctrl>+T is quiet difficult. Could we make pushing <CTRL>+S saving everything, or current selected translation ? It would be great. Another idea, maybe there should be new bug report for it is to create Project file. To hold video file, original subtitles and set of translations together.
I've seen the behavior of Subtitle Workshop, it adds an option to the Video menu (which allows to choose between original and translation), which I think is a good approach. About the other 2 enhancement ideas, they also make sense. Please open bug reports for them so they can be tracked properly.
Your first feature request has been implemented and is available in the trunk. About the other 2 requests, IIRC no reports have been opened for them yet. Do you intend to do so?
