Description Ivan Zlatev 2007-10-16 07:21:55 UTC
Please add a way to select and crop a region from a picture.
Comment 1 Michael Monreal 2007-12-03 18:53:03 UTC
This would in fact be great...

Confirming this as a bug.
Comment 4 Mike McWay 2008-10-26 15:24:41 UTC
this is a must for any image viewer.
Comment 5 André Costa 2010-12-26 20:35:05 UTC
Come on, guys... this is soon going to be a 4 year-old RFE. :-( It really is overkill forcing users to open GIMP just to crop a picture.
Comment 6 Alexander V. Butenko 2011-01-16 14:44:28 UTC
hello? Will be awesome feature for gnome3.0. Agree with Andre Costa, Resize / crop is the only one thing which is missing in eog.
Someone?
Comment 7 Allan Day 2011-01-17 17:35:54 UTC
Please don't add 'yes please' comments to bug reports - that's not what they are for.
Comment 8 André Costa 2011-01-18 01:24:22 UTC
Hi Allan,

I'm sorry if it seemed like a "me too" comment, what I really meant was to "ping" this issue, since it seemed to be dead since 2008. I'm glad it's not =) Any ETA for crop image on eog?

That depends on when you want to submit the patch to do it. Please stop commenting just for the sake of it. There is gnomesupport.org if you want to converse.
Comment 10 André Klapper 2021-06-19 08:47:56 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/eog/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
