Description antistress 2007-09-25 21:48:44 UTC
There is no "create new folder" button on the Nautils (non spatial) toolbar.

To create a new folder, you have to go to File menu and select "new folder" entry, or to right-click in the Nautilus window and to select "create a folder".

Maybe that Nautilus could/should propose this button ?

you can currently do:
1. file -> Create New Folder
2. SHIFT + CTRL + N
3. right-click -> Create New Folder

Looks like enough "Create New Folder" options for me.
IT might be a good "optional" feature that could be added with: right-click on the nautilus toolbar -> Customize. Bad thing is that such an option is not existing at the moment.

Confirming, making it depend on bug 42834 (toolbar editing).

Updating component.

One thing which isn't taken account of in Nautilus is that if you're in any other view but "Icon View" where there is whitespace around files, you can't right-click to access the "Create Folder" entry.

Is there any way to include the "Create Folder" option in the context menu when right-clicking a file as well, to negate this problem?

Thank you.

The nautilus main toolbar got streamlined in 3.0, and this is not part of our design now. Closing as WONTFIX.
