Description Luca Della Santina 2007-08-20 06:51:51 UTC
For testing purposes on the developer branch, it would be useful to have a commandline switch to exclude gstreamer + gnonlin version checks, and thus allow the application to be started even with an older version of these softwares.

This because pitivi developer branch requires the latest gstreamer version to be compiled from cvs, but for many developing purposes those functionalities are not required to test the application, and the procedure for compiling gstreamer + gstreamer_plugins + gnonlin is long and prone to errors.

Something like starting "pitivi --no_gst_check" would solve the situation

Can we close this now that we have bleeding edge ubuntu packages?
Comment 2 Edward Hervey 2009-05-11 10:00:17 UTC
Closing this. If we require specific versions of dependencies it's because there's an obvious reason ! Testing pitivi with older versions will just cause issues.
