GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 458547
Create Document > Empty File stops working after first time
Last modified: 2007-08-31 21:29:16 UTC
Please describe the problem: In any directory, under any window manager, rightclick and choose "Create Document > Empty File". Per user this works the first time, but afterwards it cannot be accomplished anymore. On the other hand the route menu > File > Create Document > Empty File works every time. I have tried to find any warnings, errors or output, but neither console, .xsession-errors, gdb or strace do I find anything of help. Steps to reproduce: See above. Actual results: First attempt of any user: an empty file is created. Subsequent attempts: nothing happens Expected results: That an empty file is created every time. Does this happen every time? Yes, except the first time for a new user. Other information: Using nautilus from rpm: nautilus-2.19.5-1mdv2008.0 under Mandriva Cooker.
Ubuntu bug about that on https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/125461
I think this is a dupe of bug 449371 where I just posted some additional information about a work-around.
I doubt that. This is a different problem.
Actually I now think this could be a duplicate of bug 449371, because right clicking works
Ah, that never occurred to me. Closing then.
I have the same problem on 2.19.6. If I click on new file -> empty, it doesn't do anything... (Ubuntu Gutsy)
Do Ubuntu people update closed bugs? Sounds gutsy.
