GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 451280
Area between the two columns in contact card view does not respond to single clicks
Last modified: 2021-05-19 12:14:23 UTC
Forwarding from an downstream bug report: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=245727 Description of problem: When I click on some concrete places on the inactive contact in address book, contact is not highlighted - but double click on the same place works as expected. Maybe this are two different issues (see attached screenshot): 1) red part of contact - probably because of incorrect parsing of imported vcf: http://brownharrisstevens.com/bhsmedia/agents/Sample,%20Elizabeth%20Lee.vcf 2) green part on the screenshot: when card is wide enough, this is part of the contact, that don't work for all my contacts Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): evolution-2.10.2-2.fc7 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. import attached "Sample, Elizabeth Lee.vcf" 2. select another contact 3. by clicking on same parts of the contact as red/green ones are on the screenshot try to "select Elizabeth" Actual results: contact to Elizabeth can't be selected Expected results: contact to Elizabeth can be selected Screenshot: http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=157878
Using evolution-2.11.3-5.fc8, I can reproduce the problem in the green area of your screenshot. But the red area shows up as "(null):" and is clickable. The "(null):" text looks like a bug to me (trying to print a NULL string). My guess is the contact is rendered as a table, and the table cells are responding to clicks while the table borders are not.
that null thingy could be a duplicate iirc
Bumping version to a stable release.
Still reproducible for green part in 3.2.3
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new bug report ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
