Description Sebastien Bacher 2007-06-16 12:29:27 UTC
The bug has been opened on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/120645

"Binary package hint: evolution

This is really annoying, as you have to order by date instead. This causes lots of spam to show up in the middle of your list of 10,000 emails and you have to keep switching to "Unread messages" filter to find it and delete it. Also not helped by the fact that a lot of people and programs don't include a sent date.

Something needs to flag the "Sent Items" folder of Exchange for exclusion in the Unmatched mail filter.

OK this actually happens with IMAP "Sent" folders, too.

If I go to my Unmatched vFolder, and then choose View -> Current View -> Messages (i.e. the default view mode), then the view is ordered by some magic field that I can't see. Problem is that it is ordering my stuff like this:

IMAP1/Inbox
IMAP1/Inbox/Sent
IMAP2/Inbox
IMAP2/Inbox/Sent
Local/Inbox
Exchange/Personal Folders/Inbox
Exchange/Personal Folders/Sent Items

Naturally, it would make much more sense if:

1) The "Sent" folders were excluded.
2) The list was ordered primarily by received date, not by account.

Testing with 3.2.3:

On this computer : Inbox
On this computer : Sent
On this computer : Inbox/bugmail

=> Still valid.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new bug report ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
