Description Bastien Nocera 2007-04-19 14:10:34 UTC
in gnome-cd/gst-cdrom.c:
#if 0
  gnomecdrom_class->close_tray = gst_cdrom_close_tray;
#endif

And no explanations as to why it's disabled. Why is it disabled? What needs to be done?

Does it work if you enable it?
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2007-04-19 16:45:40 UTC
No idea, I don't have any hardware that can close the tray I'm afraid.
Comment 4 Ronald Bultje 2007-04-19 18:17:07 UTC
Great, we all have macs. Any chance you could find someone in your office to help?
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2007-04-19 23:42:00 UTC
Actually, it's a Dell desktop, and a Sony laptop. No macs (running Linux) in sight :)
I'll see about creating some test packages.
Comment 6 Bastien Nocera 2007-04-24 13:08:52 UTC
Just doesn't work for me.

It's probably disabled because there's no gst_cdrom_close_tray implemented. And most of the code is only able to work if the device is open()'able (and it relies on GStreamer being able to open it for that, which obviously doesn't work in the close tray case, as there's no disc in the drive)...

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

vumeter, cddb, and gnome-cd have been removed since GNOME 2.28. They have long been abandonned, and it's now time to close your bug that will most probably never be fixed.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
