GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 363412
Integration with GStreamer For Video Previewing
Last modified: 2007-08-13 14:48:29 UTC
It would be great if Gnome Subtitles would make use of GStreamer to provide the user with a preview of the film _and_ allow him to use the film to sync the selected subtitles to the film's current time. This would greatly enhance Gnome Subtitles' applicability to extend beyond just translating/converting subtitles, to include synchronization of subtitles to different versions of a given film. (Migrated from the SF.net tracker)
Movie Previewing is a top feature and is one of the features that motivated the creation of Gnome Subtitles. There exists currently a project about Gstreamer C# bindings (for Google Summer of Code) which will hopefully be of relevance for integrating GST with Gnome Subtitles. Other than that, there is still some basic funcionality that needs to be implemented first, so the requested feature is in a somewhat suspended state right now.
This feature will be postponed. Gnome Subtitles currently includes support for video previewing using MPlayer. Support for GStreamer won't be hard to implement (besides the existing MPlayer support) but there are currently features with higher priority.
