GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 353375
can't access dropbear's ssh server with nautilus
Last modified: 2008-09-06 19:11:04 UTC
Please describe the problem: this bug has been first described here: https://launchpad.net/bugs/57819 Public bug reported: Hi I can't access my nokia 770 dropbear ssh server with nautilus, but I can from the cli. nautilus keep's asking for the 'user' account password. On the cli I can: javier@turion:~$ ssh user@192.168.1.3 user@192.168.1.3's password: BusyBox v1.01 (Debian 3:1.01-4.osso10) Built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. ~ $ Steps to reproduce: 1. Get a nokia 770 with 2006 OS. 2. Install the dropbear ssh client/server .deb (Taken from the application catalog 2006 in maemo wiki) 3. Start the ssh server 4. Try to log in with nautilus (fail) 5. Open a terminal and ssh to the nokia (success) Actual results: You see that nautilus (gnome-vfs) can't access the nokia (keeps asking for a password) Expected results: Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: I've straced the gnomevfs-ls command but I didn't get any usefull information, feel free to look for the attachment in https://launchpad.net/bugs/57819
It's a shame this doesn't work since dropbear's ssh client/server is probably the most installed ssh package in the nokia. Also, the nokia and gnome should play along nicely :)
As suggested by seb128 thi might be similar to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310681
This still happens with dropbear 0.49 Also, I've installed the it2007 hacker edition on my 770 and the issue remains, so I assume anyone with a n800 could try and debug this. thanks
gnome-vfs has been deprecated and superseded by gio/gvfs since GNOME 2.22, hence mass-closing many of the gnome-vfs requests/bug reports. This means that gnome-vfs is NOT actively maintained anymore, however patches are still welcome. If your reported issue is still valid for gio/gvfs, please feel free to file a bug report against glib/gio or gvfs. @Bugzilla mail recipients: query for gnome-vfs-mass-close to get rid of these notification emails all together. General further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GVFS Reasons behind this decision are listed at http://www.mail-archive.com/gnome-vfs-list@gnome.org/msg00899.html
