Description Johannes Rohr 2006-06-22 14:50:23 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: deskbar-applet
Severity: enhancement
Version: GNOME2.14.2 2.14.x
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Full address book search
Bugzilla-Product: deskbar-applet
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 2.14.x
Description:
Please describe your feature request:

At the time of writing, address book search results from deskbar are
limited to name and email address. It would be a great enhancement if
one could also search for phone numbers, postal address etc.

ATM, I still have the contact lookup applet sitting next to deskbar on
the panel, where it consumes at least two inches of precious panel
space, because unlike deskbar it gives me the full details. In fact,
since most email addresses are easy to memorise and email agents do
autocompletion anyways, I hardly ever have to look up an email address,
while looking up phone numbers is something I find myself doing a number
of times every day.

We need a python e-d-s binding that actually works (and is async)
Comment 2 Akhil Laddha 2011-07-10 02:24:06 UTC
deskbar-applet development has been stalled [1]. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing the bugs as WONTFIX.
