confirming.
perhaps a 2.6 target :-/
Comment 2 André Klapper 2006-08-10 14:53:26 UTC
also see bug 350563, very probably related.
Comment 3 daniel 2006-09-06 02:20:49 UTC
Additionally, evolution appears to ignore duplex settings for printing as well.

Maybe related?
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-09-26 14:01:42 UTC
this sucks even more when i tell evo to print only the first page, but it prints all five pages of an email. it also crashes the entire application when using the print preview, see bug 357810.

Bump, this bug is still effecting Evo 2.8.1.

It seems partially fixed, but if I select "Page Orientation=Landscape", the print preview dialog continues to preview in Portrait, while the printed page comes out in Landscape, with anything past Portrait-width cut off.

This particular problem seems fixed in 2.9.X. At least 2-up seems to be working. There is another bug that I'm trying to track down to link up with https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/86426

Basically, what's happening now is that the print renderer doesn't fit the output onto the paper, even in the print preview window.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2007-06-13 10:04:57 UTC
michael, any chance to retest this on a recent 2.11.x?
Comment 8 Matthew Barnes 2007-06-13 11:57:54 UTC
2-up printing works for me in 2.11.3. I haven't been able to test landscape printing yet. See also bug #446894, which should finally allow you to print individual pages of an email.

Also, print preview seems to not honor layout settings such as 2-up and orientation. As far as I can tell this is a GTK+ bug. Evolution's only involvement with print preview is passing GTK_PRINT_OPERATION_ACTION_PREVIEW to gtk_print_operation_run(). Beyond that Evolution just draws to whatever canvas GTK+ passes it.

Indeed, it looks like this was recently fixed in GTK+ (bug #403717).

All of the issues mentioned here seem to be resolved in 2.11.5.

Feel free to reopen this bug if you discover an outstanding issue in 2.11.5 or later related to printing layout options in the mailer.
