Description Matt Stockdale 2006-04-02 00:35:45 UTC
Documentation
Section: Menubar|Customizing Your Menus|To Add a Menu
In a file manager window, access the location where you want to add the menu.
For example, if you want to add a menu to the Applications menu, enter
applications:/// URI.

Correct version:
I'm not really sure. I wasn't able to figure out how to modify the menu bar
without installing the "alacarte" editor. However, there are most likely
numerous references to the "applications:///" and "preferences:///" URI's (and
potentially others) that are no longer accurate - those seem to have been
dropped from nautilus. Perhaps someone more familiar with the new method can
rewrite the documentation while they are not busy fixing real bugs :)

Other information:
Filed on the redhat bugzilla as well (I'm running FC5)

Comment 1 Brent Smith (smitten) 2006-04-02 02:08:59 UTC
I think this has been fixed in HEAD. Joachim, can you confirm?
Comment 2 Joachim Noreiko 2006-04-02 07:53:55 UTC
Yes, it's fixed in HEAD:
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-user-docs/gnome2-user-guide/C/goseditmainmenu.xml?rev=1.20&view=log

Should be in 2.14.1.

Matt, documentation errors are real bugs :) Please file more bugs if you find any other problems.
