Description lsof 2006-03-07 09:38:06 UTC
To change settings for Meeting and Tasks, go to
Settings> Mail Preferences> Meetings and Tasks.

It should be under "Calendar and Tasks", not "Mail Preferences", i.e.
Settings> Calendar and Tasks> Meetings and Tasks.

Other information:
Comment 1 Hendrik Richter 2006-04-12 19:31:37 UTC
This also causes a too wide settings window when using the German translation, see #312359.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2006-05-22 08:29:08 UTC
the "calendar and tasks" tab under "mail preferences" does not exist anymore.
Comment 3 Harish Krishnaswamy 2006-05-22 09:12:01 UTC
(In reply to comment #2) It does very much exist.

Comment 4 Harish Krishnaswamy 2006-05-22 09:25:32 UTC
Preferences for Tasks and Meetings go into Edit->Preferences->Calendar And Tasks.
These affect the Evolution Calendar/Task Views.

OTH, mailer preferences on how calendar data is used go under Edit->Preferences->Mail Preferences->Calendar and Tasks. These include

* what to do with iTIP mails after they have been handled
* which calendars should be consulted for conflicts while accepting invitation mails.

These indeed belong to the Mailer. Bug #312359 is a bad side-effect to be tackled but should not be resolved by moving it under Calendar.
Comment 5 lsof 2006-05-22 11:42:40 UTC
So should this bug be closed? The bug was that non-mail preferences are held under "mail preferences".

I don't see how this bug is resolved/notabug.

^^. See comment #4

Okay, so you've explained from a technical standpoint why the options are found where they are. But from a user's standpoint, they're in the wrong place. Have I missed something?
Comment 8 André Klapper 2006-06-08 16:53:37 UTC
gnome@nodata.co.uk: yes: half of our users have a technical standpoint ;-)
