GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 333184
Add Undo support to component editors
Last modified: 2014-01-13 00:32:13 UTC
Forwarded from: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33414 Flight4, latest Evolution Update 2.5.92: There is NO undo function in the Evolution Memo component. This is VERY annoying! Imagine someone writes a big memo. Now he/she wants to copy and paste it into Gedit. He/she marks everything with "CTRL-A" and instead of "CTRL-C" just accidently presses "C"... Oh, oh... Sorry, but we're in year 2006 and this simple memo editor has no undo... I think it's better to DROP the whole Memo component if there is NO undo function!
confirming.
Some work is progressing towards adding html support to cal/tasks/memo. Once that is complete, it will have undo feature across above editors.
still in 2.7.92.
What about try to change the description component in edit dialog to the same as is in New Mail? You know, with all that HTML formatting and so on.
Milan, we had some patch on that from a intern, but that wasn;t compatible with any of the servers. Chen, any idea on the whereabouts of the patch?
Nope. I do not have it.
Bumping version to a stable release.
Is this a dupe of bug 413618 ? (which covers memos, tasks, appointments - all of which need undo)
*** Bug 413618 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Let's make this general for component editors, which includes Appointments, Meetings, Memos and Tasks editors (those extra windows with Summary, Description and so on widgets.
Created commit 63a1f0e in evo master (3.11.4+)
Woohoo, awesome! A good one to mention in the Evo 3.12 release announcement.
