GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 327505
added mail account forgets smtp server requires authentication
Last modified: 2006-11-19 15:34:25 UTC
Please describe the problem: When adding a new account to evolution, it does not (as it did before) fill in the settings from the default account and even worse it forgets the smtp server setting: "server requires authentication" (so even if I check it it is unchecked afterwards) Steps to reproduce: 1. create new mail account 2. select smtp server requires authentication 3. edit that account again -> you will see "server requires authentication" is unselected Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? 100% reproducable Other information:
I am using 2.5.5 - and it seems to be working fine. Guess this is a UI issue with 2.4.1 - assigning it to srinin (UI maintainer)
partha, confirming this as there is a duplicate available with evolution 2.5.90.

Is this something that varies between the initial wizard and the subsequent dialog? I've seen old bugs where configuration settings didn't "take" in the initial wizard, but did "take" in the editor dialog. Also 333016 seems to indicate the problem is with the wizard, rather than the tabbed dialog.
In bug 333016 I experienced this problem (smtp auth setting not sticking) during the initial the wizard. I've only ever had one email account in Evolution, so I haven't had the opportunity to see it manifested in as in comment 1.
does anybody still see this bug with a current version like evolution 2.6.3? thanks a lot in advance for any updates on this.
