Description Johann Glaser 2004-08-11 16:55:38 UTC
Distribution: Debian 3.1
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: GNOME2.6.1 1.5.92
Gnome-Distributor: Debian
Synopsis: Copy-Paste replying EMails
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: 1.5.92
Description:
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. setup Evolution to quote emails when replying and add "> " in front
of the text
2. reply to an email
3. cut some of the quoted text, add some text between paragraphs (as
good email replies are done :-) )
4. new we want to reply to a series of emails in just a single one,
therefore press the reply button for another email
5. select the quoted email and copy it to the clipboard (e.g. by
selecting it with the mouse)
6. paste this to the actual reply
7. now do the same with the pasted email: cut some text, add text
between paragraphs

Actual Results:
a) when pressing Enter in empty lines, the "> " is kept (and extended)
instead of a real newline added like it is when editing a normal reply
b) no word wrap is done at long lines
c) when pasting the text the first line is not prefixed with "> "

Expected Results:
behave exactly as the normal reply

not a regression => rescheduling for 2.1
Comment 2 André Klapper 2005-06-15 10:37:49 UTC
still valid in evo-2.2.3/gtkhtml-3.6, retargetting to 2.3.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-09-28 01:21:39 UTC
2.5

Comment 7 André Klapper 2017-02-09 13:39:18 UTC
GtkHtml is not under active development anymore.
Evolution (its main consumer) switched to a WebKit backend a while ago.
It is currently unlikely that there will be any further GtkHtml development.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping (bug 778387) to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
