GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 217988
File chooser dialog size should be remembered
Last modified: 2013-09-13 01:07:46 UTC
If a dialog is resized, it should remember its new size (constrained by the desktop) when next used. In particular, the folder selector should remember when it was stretched to show more folders or longer folder names, and the filter editor should remember that it was stretched to show more constraints or actions. Additionally, the compose window should remember its size and position. I have a large desktop with large fonts (benefit of a new video card and big monitor) and the compose window is always small and up in the upper left corner.
I'd like to 2nd the request to have the compose window remember its size and position. It is very annoying to have to drag the window wider for every message I write because it is created too narrow to properly display an email message.
reassigning jpr's old evolution\miscellaneous bugs to harish
I can confirm this bug in 2.11.5: Dialogs do still not remember their size. It would be acceptable if the dialogs for new appointments or tasks would be bigger by default. But they are by far too small! I shall I open a new bug report for having bigger sizes of appointment and task dialogs?
Since this has to be done on a case-by-case basis, this bug will be about the file chooser dialog.
Decided against remembering file chooser dialog sizes. There doesn't seem to be any demand for it, and the dialog was completely redesigned since this bug was filed. Most Evolution windows remember their size these days. File separate bugs for any that still don't.
