Description Sebastien Bacher 2005-03-23 11:43:03 UTC
This bug has been opened here: https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/7992

"Hello. The network configuration tools are GREAT, thanks for working in them!
That being said, I have a bug to report. Starting with network settings open,
and an interface (any interface) set to DHCP, and with the "DNS Servers" and
"Search Domains" boxes empty in the DNS tab. When I activate the interface, and
aquire an address from dhcp /etc/resolv.conf is written
correctly. When I click OK to close network settings, the contents of
/etc/resolv.conf are replaced with whatever is in the DNS tab (in this case
nothing). This is highly counter intuitive, DNS settings should"
be taken from the environment whenever possible. It should
not be necessary to manually specify the search domain, and
dns server when changing networks, especially when DHCP is
handing the information out."

According to its developer(s), gnome-system-tools is not under active development anymore. Functionality has been mostly integrated into GNOME Control Center / "[System] Settings".

It is unlikely that there will be any further active development.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping - Please feel
free to reopen this bug report in the future if anyone takes the responsibility
for active development again.
