Description Helmut Wollmersdorfer 2005-02-07 07:15:59 UTC
Version details: 1.4.1
Distribution/Version: Debian/Sarge

Gnumeric crashes after opening, doing some changes and final save of an .xls.
The changes are lost.
This happened more than once with the same file.
Maybe the crash is related to Bug 166492, as this is the same file. Saving
resulted in a crash (3 times) or in Bug 166492.

The file was created with XL on WinXP, Changed with OO on Debian/Sarge.

Additional information:

helmut@xp2400:~$ cat /etc/fstab | grep hda6
/dev/hda6 /mnt/hda6 vfat noauto,users,exec,umask=000 0 0

The example file.
Comment 2 Morten Welinder 2005-02-07 14:27:53 UTC
I see no problems, even under purify.

A stack trace and/or step-by-step instructions would be helpful.

Now I installed gnumeric-1.4.2-2 (Debian) and 1.4.2-rc1.exe (WinXP).

The error is reproducable under both installations. See attached files,
especially "step by step instruction"

Comment 9 Morten Welinder 2005-02-08 16:30:57 UTC
While I don't get a crash, I do get what appears to be an infinite loop.
Comment 10 Morten Welinder 2005-02-08 18:09:35 UTC
We are hitting a Pango bug: bug 166700. We can work around this.
Comment 11 Morten Welinder 2005-02-08 18:22:00 UTC
Fixed in cvs (by working around the issue). Thanks for persisting.
