GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 162042
My icons are wiped out when I run xsnow
Last modified: 2009-03-15 18:50:07 UTC
Run xsnow, all my icons start rubbing out ;)
Same with xpenguins. If nautilus drew icons onto the desktop background image, other programs redrawing the background would redraw the icons as part of the image.
I am able to replicate it with the latest build (CVS HEAD) as of 22-Dec-2004. After you move your mouse over the rubbing out icons on desktop they are displayed again. Marking it as New
Read on xsnow's webpage : "All you KDE-users can now be even happier with a KDE-enabled Xsnow 1.42! The snow will magnificently wipe out your icons, but not to worry, they're not really gone. By wiping with a window or something you can make them reappear. Car owners are used to this for years. Thanks to Robin Hogan (R.J.Hogan@reading.ac.uk) who figured this out for xpenguin." http://www.euronet.nl/~rja/Xsnow/
3rd party issue - I don't see a nautilus bug here.
