This is a tracking bug to follow the mess of proposed menu changes in one place
and hopefully provide a summary of those changes.

Comment 2 Bryan W Clark 2004-12-22 21:53:38 UTC
Basic Summary of what I believe is a common consensus

== Some assumptions for the sake of argument ==
   There exists an Applications menu
There exists a Desktop menu which used to be the Actions menu (mabye you
prefer System, whatever)

== Summary ==

Should have a help menu located in the "Desktop" menu
bug 75312

Should have "quickstart" menu entries based off the Application menu
bug 130733

Should have an About GNOME located in the "Desktop" menu
bug 97402

Should have Preferences located in the "Desktop" menu
bug 92719
Comment 3 Vincent Untz 2004-12-23 06:42:48 UTC
Note that in the future, we should have an applications menu editor. It might
change what's best for the "Behavior of Menu Items" category.
Comment 4 Mark McLoughlin 2005-01-06 10:51:14 UTC
Adding one more:

bug #92277 - Shut Down and Reboot in the Actions menu
Comment 5 Bryan W Clark 2005-02-11 16:27:20 UTC
Adding bug 167090 - Run Applications should be dropped from main menus
Comment 6 Mark McLoughlin 2005-05-18 13:12:32 UTC
Adding:

bug #129073 - Right click on "panel menu button" should have "Browse
Applications" option.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-panel/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
