I'd almost recommend sending this out to https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/ , but a
quick IRC poll turned up users that aren't seeing gataxx crash. (Ubuntu is a
new debian-based distro that does stuff like disable the root user. The
patchfile seems unexciting: http://ftp.cs.umn.edu/pub/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gnome-
games/gnome-games_2.8.0-0ubuntu1.diff.gz )
Comment 2 Callum McKenzie 2004-10-07 10:11:26 UTC
I have two ubuntu crash reports now (from opposite ends of the program). Ubuntu
does apply any strange patches, but I think they use some unusual (but not
unreasonable) options for gcc. I think this is where I'll have to look.
Comment 3 Richard Hoelscher 2004-10-13 21:24:27 UTC
Sebastien Bacher posted another Ubuntu gataxx crash, claim he's only seeing it
on amd64. I'll try to check it out on this platform sometime, probably this
month. https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2345

Suspect comment in gtkgridboard.c:

/* FIXME improve this: sizeof(gint *) != sizeof(gint) */

The second part of the array is int, so we need to cast to int* _before_
incrementing.
Comment 7 Callum McKenzie 2004-10-15 09:30:30 UTC
Yeah Marco, that would be the problem. Fixed in both 2.8 and 2.9.
Comment 8 Robert Ancell 2012-01-31 23:22:58 UTC
This bug is being reassigned to the "general" component so we can close the gataxx bugzilla component. Apologies for the mass email!
