GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 147352
emblems on symlinks only appear when the folder is open
Last modified: 2005-06-27 09:11:24 UTC
1. On you desktop create a new symlink to any other folder on your local filesystem. 2. Open the properties dialog for the new symlink. 3. From the emblems tab, place a check next to any one emblem. 4. The emblem will not appear on the symlink. 5. Open the folder and the emblem will appear. 6. Close the folder and the symlink will disappear again.
Confirmed on nautilus 2.7.2
This appears to be theme dependent. In particular the problem definately occurs under Redhat's Bluecurve. I can verify that it occurs under Fedora FC2 (updated) as per the bug report: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=119930 However, other themes appear to correctly display the emblems on symlinks. In particular all of the (default) themes on my Mandrake Cooker installation work fine (in fact, all of the themes of my a default FC2 install, other than Bluecurve, work properly). Under Mandrake: nautilus-2.6.3 Under FC2: nautilus-2.6.0
this bug is fixed by redhat-artwork according to the redhat bug, I'm closing it. Feel free to reopen if that's still an issue for you.
