GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 147228
magnifier isn't moveable; covers what needs magnification
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Description of problem: The magnifier covers the portion of the screen I need magnified. I can't seem to move or resize it. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.8.1 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open gnopernicus 2. Enable the Magnifier Actual results: The magnifier covers roughly half the screen, including what I need magnified. The window is not moveable or resizeable. Expected results: Something like xzoom, maybe? Additional info: 0.9.5 is the latest version of gnopernicus. I don't know if it fixes this bug.
Hi, the magnifier in gnopernicus is moveable/resizable. After you enable magnifier you have to go in Preferences->Magnifier->Add/Modify There you will get the "Zoomer Options" dialog where you will find the "Zoomer Placement" options. Modifying these values will move/resize the magnifier. Please tell me if this works for you.
Ah, I see there are some options. Top, Right, and Bottom work. Left doesn't... odd. Anyway, is there a particular reason the window can't be resized in a more sane manner? This coordinate-play doesn't seem very usable or accessible.
I am using the 0.9.5 version of gnopernicus and all "Zoomer placement" options work for me . When you change the LEFT "Zoomer Placement" option , try hiting ENTER after you write the new value in the editbox. This should apply the changes. There already is a rfe filed against gnopernicus #124526, requesting that the magnifier shuld be able to be moved/resized using the mouse pointer. I will close this bug, as an duplicate to bug #124526
