GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 135566
Selecting text in address bar does not copy.
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Epiphany's address bar is seemingly the only part of the browser which does not behave according to traditional X copy/paste behavior, and does so in an inconsistent fashion. Essentially, it seems that Epiphany's address bar does not obey "highlight to copy" behavior, but only with repect to Epiphany. Highlighting a URL in Epiphany's address bar will not make it available to be pasted into other text fields in Epiphany (form fields in a page, address bars in other tabs, etc.), but *will* make it available to be pasted into text fields in other applications. Test case: 1. Open Epiphany and Gedit. 2. Highlight the URL displayed in Epiphany's address bar. 3. Middle-click in a form field anywhere in Epiphany, or in the address bar of another Epiphany window/tab. Expected behavior: paste URL. Actual behavior: does nothing. 4. With URL still highlighted, middle-click in Gedit. Expected behavior: paste URL. Actual behavior: paste URL. This behavior is inconsistent and needs to be corrected.
Works for me in epiphany 1.1.x. When switching tab the selection is lost but that's a known behavior of GtkEntry.

Seems to work perfectly in latest versions, closing.
