Description Jamie Zawinski 2003-05-01 03:49:01 UTC
If I ever open a non-modal Gimp window (e.g., all the stuff on the Dialogs
menu: Tool Options, Layers, etc.) I can never close it: these windows have
no window manager close button, nor do they have their own internal close
buttons.

Further, it's possible to bring up multiple Layers windows -- none of which
will go away.

Forgot to mention: this is with sawfish-1.2-5 on RH 9.
Comment 2 Sven Neumann 2003-05-02 11:06:54 UTC
These windows are labelled as utility windows. If sawfish doesn't give
them close buttons, it's either misconfigured or buggy.
Comment 3 Olivier Berger 2003-05-30 11:55:43 UTC
same also applies for xchat configuration dialogs
Comment 4 John Paul Wallington 2003-08-13 12:44:19 UTC
A simple fix is to change the default value of
frame-type-fallback-alist, defined in
/sawfish/lisp/sawfish/wm/frames.jl, so that utility falls back to
default instead of transient. Maybe the other remaining fallbacks
specified in that variable have to be rejiggled to take into account
that change.

yes that's the right fix, thanks
