Description Ray Strode [halfline] 2012-08-02 16:45:41 UTC
Right now in the region panel, if a user chooses a language or input source they don't get things like spell checking dictionaries and other language support packages installed.

We should probably have some packagekit integration to make this more seamless, especially since install media is often space constrained and does ship these addons out of the box.

This should really be part of the installation, IMO. CC:'ing designers.
Comment 2 Ray Strode [halfline] 2012-08-03 14:43:22 UTC
It's pretty comparable to fonts I think. So might may sense to do "just in time" and not in the control-center.

Comment 4 André Klapper 2021-06-09 16:00:16 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
