Description Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-26 19:46:23 UTC
This issue will keep track of current bugs that are blocking banshee to be shipped as the default media player (replacing rhythmbox) in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
Comment 1 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-26 19:47:54 UTC
If those bugs are not fixed before August 27th rhythmbox will still be kept as the default media player
Comment 2 Nicolò Chieffo 2009-05-26 19:57:35 UTC
Developers would like to have feature parity with rhythmbox, and accessibility.
Comment 3 Gabriel Burt 2009-06-02 23:19:07 UTC
Confirming
Comment 4 Alexander Kojevnikov 2010-03-11 23:28:59 UTC
Looks like all dependencies are closed. Anything else before this can be marked as FIXED?
Comment 5 Nicolò Chieffo 2010-03-11 23:37:54 UTC
Mmmm, remove HAL dependency?

Adding as a dependency. Also changing the summary for Ubuntu 10.10
Comment 7 Nicolò Chieffo 2010-03-11 23:58:56 UTC
Anyway I don't really know if ubuntu developers will ever reconsider to use banshee by default.
Comment 8 Gabriel Burt 2010-03-12 00:10:17 UTC
They have considered it in the past, and I'm under the impression they're willing to take another look for Lucid + 1.
Comment 9 Alexander Kojevnikov 2010-08-20 13:25:55 UTC
All blocking bugs are now fixed, does anyone know if Ubuntu still considers Banshee for 10.10?
Comment 10 Bertrand Lorentz 2010-08-20 13:31:26 UTC
We should be the default in the 10.10 Netbook edition (aka UNE), but not on the desktop edition.

Updating summary, because I can ;)
Comment 11 Andrés G. Aragoneses (IRC: knocte) 2013-10-30 09:54:12 UTC
I think this is OBSOLETE by now.

Hopefully we will be a candidate again, and we can open a similar bug to this one soon?
