GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 318093
background bar appearing with transparent window list
Last modified: 2005-12-23 03:54:09 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17137 "With the new transparency for the window list, there is a draw bug if the window list is aligned at the bottom of the screen. Occasionally, when all windows are minimized and the panel is transparent and at the bottom, a black artifact appears after the last button on the list. http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/attachment.cgi?id=4378 Screenshot of the bug A screenshot of the bug. Notice the black bar next to the Beep entry on the window list."
other similar bug; http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17237 "I was complaining in bug 17056 that the window list in the bottom panel had recently become transparent, but I was told that this is a new feature, not a bug. So I left it transparent, and started to notice that the wallpaper I could see through the window list was getting messed up. I couldn't see exactly how, so I wrote the alphabet twice across the bottom on my wallpaper so I could see more clearly what was happening. See the attached image. The top strip shows the bottom panel before I open any windows. You can see the alphabet on my wallpaper showing through. The bottom strip shows the bottom panel after I've opened a bunch of windows and closed some of them. Notice how the letters from o through to z on the far right have been replaced by c through to m. If I point the mouse at the corrupted area, the window name I point to goes non-transparent, but when I move the mouse away, the corrupted image returns. Even if I click in a corrupted area, the window name goes non-transparent, but again the corruption returns when I select a different window. If I use the 'hide buttons' on either end, then the wallpaper is revealed, showing 2 complete alphabets again, and when I un-hide the panel, the correct, uncorrupted alphabets are now shown. I've seen this a few times now, but don't know exactly how to reproduce it. It certainly happens without me moving anything on the panel. I didn't move anything, or add anything or remove anything from the panel. All I did was run programs, switch between programs and stop programs. http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/attachment.cgi?id=4413 a pair of screenshots showing the problem notice how the letters are different on the right-hand edge in the two panels"
I'd say this is a bug in the applet, not in libwnck. Moving to gnome-panel.
This is actually a symptom of bug 167771. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 167771 ***
